Suitable for architects, structural engineers, urban designers, building envelope engineers, and landscape architects amongst others, this Level 2 Rhino for AEC course introduces and explains industry standard Rhino workflows. Training is suitable for both Rhino for Windows and Rhino for Mac OS X.
This comprehensive course starts with a brief introduction as to how, when and why Rhino 3D is used in professional architectural studios. A Rhino refresher then follows before the course moves on to discuss NURBS topology in detail. The aim is to deliver a core understanding of the principals of NURBS so that both the advantages and limitations of the topology can be utilized in building clean, efficient and editable geometry. These principals are then put into practice with several architectural exercises during which a range of tools and strategies are utilised. The course then progresses through the structure as outlined below and finishes with an Introduction to Grasshopper.
Online Rhino Courses from Simply Rhino Training are all Live sessions with our Rhino Authorised Trainers. This live and interactive delivery format allows for discussion and timely questions. We record the sessions too, so you can go over the material again and as required following the class; so we’d say this is the best possible online learning approach, first live, and then access to recordings of your courses.
Although the class follows a clearly defined structure there is scope for trainees to discuss individual work examples and work on live project examples. This course is the ideal step-up for professionals working in the following industries:
How, when and why Rhino is used in Architecture | Rhino Refresher | Geometry Types Explained | NURBS Topology Explained | Strategies for building clean and editable controlled sculptural forms | Exploring shape variations with History | Creating and editing transitional surfaces | Orient and Array Tools | Paneling Tools plug-in | Working with 2D legacy data | Working at a local origin and strategies to move data between site and local origin | Solid editing tools and the various metaphors for editing solids | Section Tools plug-in | Interoperability with other software | Managing large data sets in Rhino | Referencing files with Blocks and Worksessions | Presenting from Rhino | Display modes | Rendering | Materials and lighting | Raytraced Render mode | Creating and managing 2D Layouts | Introduction to Grasshopper
