In this full-day workshop, a collaboration between the founders of Raven and the team from Shape to Fabrication®, we will introduce Raven and how it steps up your firms Grasshopper work. During the workshop we will actively explore workflows and user cases in a working session together, plus the Raven team will share insights on what the impact of AI is, and will be, in Architecture and Engineering.

Raven is a full-day, in-person workshop focused on practical AI-assisted parametric design in Rhino and Grasshopper. Designed for architects, designers, computational designers, and advanced Grasshopper users, the workshop introduces Raven as a native AI CAD tool for authoring, editing, understanding, and extending Grasshopper workflows.

The day begins with onboarding and core concepts, giving participants a clear foundation in Raven’s interface, capabilities, and best practices. From there, the workshop moves into hands-on exercises for creating parametric geometry from scratch using a range of input methods, including natural language prompts, sketches, and other multimodal inputs. Participants will also learn how to work with existing Grasshopper definitions: modifying scripts, asking questions about legacy files, organizing libraries, and uncovering new value in past work.

A major focus of the workshop is showing how Raven operates across the broader Rhino and Grasshopper ecosystem. Participants will explore how Raven can assist with plugin-based workflows, including physics simulation and form-finding with tools such as Kangaroo, as well as optimization and other advanced computational processes. The workshop will also introduce Raven’s customization workflows, including how to build a custom Raven agent that understands your specific design logic, preferred plugins, and office or personal workflow context.

In the afternoon, participants will break into smaller working groups organized around shared interests. With support from two instructors, each group will apply Raven to problems specific to their work, such as specific plugins. The day concludes with group presentations and discussion, allowing participants to share outcomes, compare approaches, and reflect on how Raven can be integrated into their own practice.

After this workshop, you will know how to use Raven, how it levels up your Grasshopper work, and how it democratises the power of parametric design.

• Those with zero Grasshopper experience are very welcome, after all you’ll be creating Grasshopper definitions using natural language. Those with Grasshopper experience, even those experts in this area, are also very welcome
• All attendees should be experienced with Rhino v7 or v8 to at least an Intermediate Level, this means having used Rhino to a good standard for at least 6-months, so if you are new to Rhino this is not the course for you (yet)
• Attendees must bring their own laptop with Rhino v7 or v8 installed on to use for the workshop and are welcome to come along with all their favourite Rhino plug-ins installed
• This Raven Workshop is suitable for users of Rhino v7 or v8 on Mac or Windows
• All Workshop attendees will be given access to a Pro version of Raven during the morning of the workshop, they can use this for the 1-day workshop session
