Grasshopper is one of the most powerful design tools available, but it has always had the same limitation: to use a Grasshopper definition, you need Rhino, the right plug-ins, and enough Grasshopper knowledge not to break it. That rules out most of the people who actually need the results — colleagues in other disciplines, clients, sales teams, fabricators, and customers.

ShapeDiver removes that limitation. You upload your Grasshopper file to ShapeDiver's cloud servers, which run Rhino and Grasshopper on your behalf. The parameters and outputs of your definition are exposed through a web interface and an API, so anyone with a browser can change inputs and see the geometry, drawings, data, and production files update in real time. Your original definition stays on ShapeDiver's servers and is never exposed to the people using it.

ShapeDiver has been developing this technology since 2016 and today runs on Rhino 6, 7 and 8 server systems with support for more than 40 third-party Grasshopper plug-ins — and, on Enterprise plans, proprietary in-house plug-ins as well.

A configurator or internal design app is only as good as the Grasshopper definition behind it.
