RhinoCAM 

 

RhinoCAM is a Computer Aided Machining (CAM) plug-in for CNC that runs completely inside of Rhinoceros 5.0. This plug-in is a general purpose machining program targeted at the general machinist. RhinoCAM marries the power of Rhino’s freeform modeling with the legendary machining capabilities of VisualCAM to bring you a product of unrivaled capability for free form surface machining. With the seamless user interface, selection and display integration RhinoCAM acts and feels like you are working with Rhino when creating your cutter paths. RhinoCAM is fully associative to any geometry changes within Rhino. RhinoCAM includes modules for MILL, TURN, NEST, and ART to address specific needs of various CNC manufacturing processes.

The Rhino CAM 2017 bundle comes with MILL, TURN, NEST and ART modules included. These modules are also available individually.

RhinoCAM is only available on Rhino for Windows. It will not run on the Mac version of Rhino.

 

RhinoCAM - Mill

RhinoCAM Mill 2017 is a Rhino plug-in that runs completely inside of 5.0. Combining the free-form modeling power of Rhino and the legendary machining capabilities of VisualMILL, this plug-in offers an easy to use yet powerful general purpose machining program for the general machinist.

RhinoCAM MILL includes 2-1/2, 3, 4 & 5 axis milling and hole making operations. It comes with hundreds of free post-processors as well as a post-processor generator to create user definable post-processors. 
RhinoCAM MILL marries the power of Rhino's freeform modeling with VisualMILL's legendary machining capabilities to bring you a product of unrivalled capability for free form surface machining.

With the seamless user interface, selection and display integration RhinoCAM MILL acts and feels like you are working with Rhino when creating your cutter paths. RhinoCAM MILL delivers outstanding ease of use, associativity to design, power, speed and affordability.

RhinoCAM MILL 2017 comes in five different configurations as follows:

 

RhinoCAM MILL 2017 Xpress (XPR)

Launched in June 2016, RhinoCAM MILL Xpress, is an addition to the current RhinoCAM software product line and is aimed at the growing community of hobbyists, makers and DIY enthusiasts who are looking for an inexpensive, easy use yet powerful CAM solution.

Features of this new configuration include:

  • 2½ Axis methods such as Facing, Pocketing, Profiling, and Drilling
  • 3 Axis methods such as Z-level roughing and Parallel Finishing
  • Standard tools such as Ball, Flat, Corner Radius, V and Drill tools
  • Free post processors
  • Ability to step up to more advanced configurations as the need arises

 

RhinoCAM MILL 2017 Standard (STD) 

This is a general purpose machining program targeted at the general machinist. This product is ideal for the rapid-prototyping, hobby and educational markets where ease of use is a paramount requirement. Packed with sufficiently powerful manufacturing methods this easy to use package is not only effective but also attractively priced for the budget conscious or entry level buyer. 

 

RhinoCAM MILL 2017 Expert (EXP) 

This configuration allows 4th Axis Indexed and continuous roughing and finishing operations in RhinoCAM MILL 2017.

Curve based continuous machining such as 4 Axis Facing, Pocketing, Profiling & Engraving as well as surface/solid/mesh based machining such as Roughing, Finishing and Curve Projection machining are available. This configuration includes all of the functionality included in the STD configuration. 

 

RhinoCAM 2017 MILL Professional (PRO) 

This powerful package is ideal for mold, die and tooling, wood working rapid-prototyping and general machining markets. This product boasts of powerful toolpath generation strategies coupled with tools for efficiently controlling the cutting tool for detailed machining capabilities, while not sacrificing ease of use.

Suitable for demanding users with sophisticated manufacturing requirements. This product configuration includes all of the functionality included in the EXP configuration described above.

 

RhinoCAM 2017 MILL Premium (PRE)

This package includes a new 5 Axis continuous machining functionality. Suitable for highly sophisticated machining requirements such as aerospace, advanced mold making and woodworking industry, this package includes such machining methods such as surface normal machining, swarf machining and surface flow machining. The package in addition includes all the functionality found in the PRO configuration described above. 

 

RhinoCAM - TURN

RhinoCAM-TURN is a powerful 2 axis Turning Center programming system that is one of the five modules offered in the RhinoCAM CAM software suite. This module includes Turn Roughing, Finishing, Groove Roughing, Finishing, Threading, Parting, hole machining & free post processors. RhinoCAM-TURN CAM software for your lathes and turning centers delivers outstanding value for your investment.

 

RhinoCAM - NEST

RhinoCAM-NEST is MecSoft’s cost effective solution for optimally arranging and fitting geometric shapes onto sheets of stock material. It provides two primary nesting capabilities: Rectangular Nesting and True Shape Nesting. For both solutions, individual 2D CAD shapes can be arranged on sheets according to user-defined quantities, spacing, and with orientation control, including material grain restrictions.

 

RhinoCAM - ART

RhinoART or RhinoCAM-ART is a module within RhinoCAM that is used to convert artwork into geometry suitable for machining. This module introduces exciting new modeling techniques for modeling artistic shapes using raster bitmap images. Used in conjunction with RhinoCAM’s 3D modeling tools, it offers a complementary set of modeling techniques for jewelry design, sign making and model making.

Basic Specification Requirements:

 

Rhino 5 for Windows runs on ordinary Windows desktop and laptop computers, with:

Hardware:

  • Minimum 1 GB RAM. 8 GB or more is recommended
  • DVD drive or an Internet connection for installation
  • 700 MB of free disk space
  • OpenGL 2 capable video card recommended
  • Note: Apple hardware is supported only with Bootcamp

 

Operating systems:

  • Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows XP (32-bit only) Service Pack 3
  • Note: Both 32- and 64-bit versions are installed on 64-bit Windows systems.

 

Internet:

  • Service releases downloaded automatically
  • License validation and product registration is simplified

 

Not supported:

  • Linux
  • Windows NT, 95, 98, ME, or 2000
  • Windows XP 64-bit
  • Mac OS X, but an OS X version is under development. Details...
